Selena Gómez nació en la ciudad de Nueva York, y creció en Grand Prairie, Texas. Su primer papel fue en Barney y sus amigos cantando muchas canciones de la serie como Gianna. Fue descubierta cuando tenía 12 años de edad por los estudios.
En 2006 participó como estrella invitada en la segunda temporada de Zack y Cody gemelos en accion protagonizando a Gwen en el episodio A Midsummer’s Nightmare. En 2007, apareció también en una serie de episodios de Hannah Montana como Mikayla, una estrella del pop que es rival de Hannah Montana, actualmente es la protagonista de su propia serie llamada Los Hechiceros de Waverly Place.
